ENGA 0093 - Reading and Writing Studio ENGA 0093 - Reading and Writing Studio Description A course designed to students gain skills they can apply to college level reading and writing requirements. Students will study and practice critical thinking skills, active reading strategies, and source citation. Library resources and the recursive process of writing are emphasized. This course supports student success in English Composition I. Apply active reading techniques to identify supporting details, stated and implied main ideas of texts, and common writing patterns. Apply pre-reading, reading, and post-reading strategies. Apply critical reading skills to identify tone and bias. Provide evidence and analyze reading selections for inferences. Evaluate texts with diverse perspectives and navigate the ambiguity and complexity that comes with multiple perspectives. Integrate and cite relevant sources. Compose focused, varied, and coherent sentences. General Education
