Topics include Reconstruction, the Jim Crow era, urbanization, the Harlem Renaissance, the Civil Rights movement, and the philosophies of major African-American leaders. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in African-American history since the Civil War.
