AOJ 001 — introduces students to the criminal justice system in the United States. e focus of the course is on examining

crime including the theoretical explanations of crime, community responses to crime, the components of the criminal justice system, and current challenges in law enforcement. Students learn the roles and functions of police, courts, and corrections and are introduced to the history and development of criminal law, legal processes, and sentencing and incarceration policies.
