Prerequisite: Placement determined by a college ready assessment score in reading Corequisite: none This course introduces the fundamentals of American Sign Language (ASL) used by the Deaf Community, including basic vocabulary, syntax, fingerspelling, and grammatical non-manual signals. Questions, commands, and simple sentences are covered, leading to basic conversational skills. Students will gain cultural knowledge and increased understanding of the Deaf Community.
