ARTS 1201 — - Elements & Principles of Art

Prerequisite: none Corequisite: none This course is a foundation-level study of the development, principles, and elements of two-dimensional artwork. Students will explore the concepts of composition through guided projects and demonstrations, using a variety of materials and techniques to build an understanding of the foundation of two-dimensional expression, and they will explain the historical and contemporary perspectives that influence two-dimensional design and the arts. Students will use a creative thinking process to experiment, brainstorm, Course Listings & Descriptions and evaluate the effectiveness of personal artwork through critique.
