Students who elect to complete a Basic Radio and Audio Production certificate learn specialized broadcast skills in a shorter period of time than they would with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Students learn about radio programming, formats, and audience rating surveys, professional writing techniques for television and radio. Additionally, students learn about basic audio production techniques and how to use audio equipment and mixer to produce audio tracks for radio and television production. Students learn the fundamentals of audio mixing from the audio source to final master and demonstrate linear and non-linear master mixing. Students get on-the-air experience on the college FM
