GEOG R103 — Introduction to Weather and Climate

This course provides an introduction to Earth's atmosphere. Topics include: atmospheric structure and composition, solar radiation and energy balances, temperature, seasonal changes, atmospheric moisture, clouds and fog, precipitation, air pressure, winds, air masses and fronts, cyclones, weather forecasting, climate types, and science of and human relationships with climate change. Weather prediction and weather hazards are examined, including: fire weather, flash flooding, tornadoes and hurricanes, plus the human influence on the atmosphere and it's impact to communities.
