NRS 460 — Advocacy through Healthcare Policy

This course examines the role of a nurse in influencing health policy and advocating for quality healthcare. Students analyze current healthcare policies and initiatives, identifying how policies influence healthcare access, quality, cost, and nursing practice. This course will engage in advocacy efforts to promote ethical, equitable, and evidence-based policies. The student will develop strategies to inform, advance, and implement policy as an advocate and change agent within healthcare organizations and government entities.

Prerequisites: NRS 400, STAT 243Z, WR 123, WR 227Z
