AET3212 — Avionics Communication Theory

0 credits · 0 hours

This course introduces students to the theoretical concepts and practical maintenance of High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) communications, as well as inter-cabin communication systems and the associated wiring and antennas. This course also introduces bench and ramp testing of components. Upon completion, students will be able to: identify the wiring associated with the communication components of the avionics systems and explain the operation of each wire; troubleshoot the communication system using appropriate schematics to identify faults; and install and test an antenna by using AC 43.13-2A and the manufacturer's installation manual.
