ETHN 15 — WOMEN OF COLOR IN THE UNITED STATES

This course is an interdisciplinary, multi-perspective, comparative study of women of color in the United States. Students will focus on the histories, experiences, contributions, philosophies, and struggles of Native American, Black/African American, Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Chicanx/Latinx women in U.S. society. Students will examine interlocking categories of power that include race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, citizenship, among others, and engage with feminist of color critiques and scholarship.
