CHEM 1BH — GENERAL CHEMISTRY II HONORS
This is the second semester of a one-year course in chemistry intended for majors in the natural sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, physics, pre-medicine), allied health, mathematics, and engineering. Topics include chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, coordination chemistry, and nuclear chemistry. CHEM 1B is part of the one year General Chemistry course sequence. It is recommended that CHEM 1A and 1B be completed at a single institution before transfer. This Honors course is enriched through additional writing assignments, and an independent research project involving additional reading, writing, and an oral presentation. Credit may be earned in either CHEM 1B or 1BH, but not both.
