CVT1200 — Cardiovascular Pharmacology

This course provides the pharmacological background necessary to function within the clinical setting of the cardiac catheterization lab and non-invasive cardiology lab. Emphasis is placed on drug classification, routes of administration, modes of action, indications and contraindications, treatments for adverse reactions, normal dosages and drug effects on patient hemodynamics. Venipuncture is introduced, as well as pre-procedural therapeutic therapies with proper dosing per individual patient protocol. This course provides a study of ECG arrhythmia recognition in relation to medications and intra-procedural complications.
