Emergency Medical Technician
The Emergency Medical Technician certificate program prepares students to become competent entry-level EMTs by combining general education with program-specific lectures, labs, and clinical courses. Students learn to determine patient conditions, provide emergency medical care for respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies, and transport patients. The program utilizes state-of-the-art simulation labs at the Escanaba campus and prepares students to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician examination, qualifying them for state licensing in Michigan. It also provides an academic credit pathway for those wishing to continue into the AAS-Paramedic Program.
