NUR 3206 — Concepts in Nursing I
This course is an introduction to the cognitive framework of the curriculum which emphasizes holistic man, environment, and nursing as an interacting system. It explores bio-psycho-social and spiritual dimensions of health across the lifespan, with focused application to adults, including older adults and their families. Students learn the nursing process and clinical judgement as foundations for care, with emphasis on assessment, health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention. Concepts of professionalism and care for clients with self-limiting and chronic conditions in structured health settings are also addressed.
