Topics also include new trends in the management and processing of health information with an emphasis on the electronic health record EHR. The course also explores the planning, design, selection, implementation, integration, testing, evaluation, and support of the EHR, including infrastructure required, legal issues that impact implementation, project management techniques, information technology systems, and workflow processes and redesign in health care settings (e.g., acute care, long term care, and mental health care).
