Applies therapeutic interventions using the nursing process to adapt patient centered care to meet the needs of diverse clients within the healthcare system. Clinical practicum occurs in well-defined settings and integrates the competencies of nursing practice to include patient centered care, informatics, teamwork and collaboration, safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice. (Patient-centered Care) Function competently within the scope of practice as a member of the health care team. (Teamwork and Collaboration) Determine reliable sources for locating evidence reports and clinical practice guidelines. (Evidence-based Practice) Explain the importance of variation and measurement in assessing quality of care. (Quality Improvement) Demonstrate effective use of strategies to reduce risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance. (Safety) Evaluate the use of the electronic health record as a means of information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision making.
