DMS 111 - Sonography Clinical Education II DMS 111 - Sonography Clinical Education II Description: Supervised clinical assignments follow a structured approach involving observation, assistance, and the achievement of specific sonography competency benchmarks over the course of a semester. Designed to students develop essential skills in patient care, imaging practices, scanning protocols and techniques for various examinations through a competency-based approach. Demonstrate proper workplace conduct and uphold professional ethics. (2,3) Act upon written and verbal directives to fulfill assigned duties. (4,5) Employ technical terminology in both written and verbal communication. Practice critical thinking and ethical awareness. Utilize specialized equipment, software, and tools as necessary. Required Assessment: Documentation of student clinical hours meeting or exceeding the program’s minimum semester requirements. Daily log of exams: observed, assisted or performed. Maintenance of competency log. A minimum of two evaluations by the clinical coordinator. a. Midterm Affective Evaluation b. Final Affective Evaluation Student’s evaluation of the clinical site and clinical preceptor. Image analysis oral presentation.
