3 credits This course consists of theoretical analysis of the relation of deviant group behavior and subcultures/countercultures to community standards of conventional behavior as expressed in laws and norms. Analysis of social control settings and mechanisms and the relationship between social deviance and social control efforts at both the micro, mezzo and macro levels are emphasized.
