LET 275 — BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CREDITS:

The WDTC Basic Law Enforcement Training course is 560 hours of instruction designed to prepare students for 21 st century law enforcement. Coursework is physically demanding, cogitatively challenging, and conducted under the instruction and supervision of credentialed professionals with industry experience. The Basic Law Enforcement Training course will meet or exceed all standards established by the State of South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training Commission to ready students for entry-level law enforcement careers upon graduation. At the end of this course, students will take the South Dakota Law Enforcement Reciprocity Exam offered by the South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training Commission. PREREQUISITES: SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE FIRST THREE SEMESTERS OF THE LET PROGRAM. NOTE: IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOUTH DAKOTA CODIFIED LAW AND THE SOUTH DAKOTA LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS STANDARDS AND TRAINING COMMISSION, ALL INDIVIDUALS SERVING IN THE CAPACITY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT.
