CIS 131 — NETWORKING TECHNOLOGIES I CREDITS:
The course focuses on network terminology and protocols, Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools, routers, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, and network standards and design. Basic small office/home networks will be addressed, including wireless and security configurations. GRADE REQUIREMENT : A MINIMUM GRADE OF C OR EQUIVALENT INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION MUST BE EARNED IN THIS COURSE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO GRADUATE FROM THE COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM OR PROGRESS INTO COURSES THAT RE QUIRE THIS COURSE AS A PREREQUISITE.
