WELD 101 - Oxy/Fuel Welding, Cutting, and SMAW 1 WELD 101 - Oxy/Fuel Welding, Cutting, and SMAW 1 LEC hours per week: 3 Welding theory designed to explain welding safety, industry practices, and Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) processes. Students will learn the safe handling and operation of Oxy/fuel welding, brazing and cutting equipment; contrast SMAW 6010, and 7018 electrodes; and material preparation methods. Introduction to basic print reading and layout. Discuss the importance of professional and ethical shop behavior and welding safety. Course
