BIOL 1030 - ^Essentials of Biology BIOL 1030 - ^Essentials of Biology This is a one-semester course covering selected topics in Life Science. Topics include: the scientific method, the chemistry of life, the cell and functions of cellular organelles, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, protein synthesis, genetics, DNA, cell reproduction, evolution, microbes, fungi, plants, animals, and ecology. Credit in only one of the following courses can be used toward graduation or general education core requirements: BIOL 1010 , BIOL 1020 , BIOL 1030, BIOL 1110 , BIOL 1120 .
