RED 4352 — DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT FOR LITERACY
This course provides Florida Educator Accomplished Practices-aligned knowledge and skills for teachers and prospective teachers to identify and administer appropriate literacy assessments; to use a systematic problem-solving process to analyze assessment data; and to diagnose characteristics of reading difficulties, including dyslexia, and differentiate reading instruction accordingly across various educational levels in elementary, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), exceptional education, and language arts classrooms. This course addresses Reading Endorsement Competencies 3 and 4, ESOL Competencies 3 and 5, and includes a 15-hour field experience.
