NUR 1100C — ATN-TRANSITION INTO PROFESSIONAL NURSING CONCEPTS

Degree Program Corequisite: NUR 2440C , NUR 2931C This course introduces the concepts within the domain of health and illness, health care recipient, and professional nursing and health care emphasizing the themes of attributes and resources, homeostasis and regulation, care competencies. This course will focus on the concepts of development, clinical judgement, comfort and caring, ethics, fluid and electrolytes, mobility, culture, health care quality, health promotion, adherence, infection, professional identity, safety, stress and coping, technology and informatics. Reinforcement of interrelated concepts related to development, elimination, gas exchange, culture and communication, perfusion, and skin integrity. Upon completion, students will provide safe nursing care incorporating the concepts identified in this course. A grade of satisfactory in the clinical/lab is required. This course must be completed with a grade of C or better for program progression. (Special Fee: $151.00).
