HUM 2454 — AFRICAN - AMERICAN HUMANITIES

An integrated study of New World cultures most impacted by the African diaspora. Topics include African civilizations; the impact of African and African American influences on art, music, literature, and the creation of distinctive African-American cultures. This course will afford students the ability to think critically through the mastering of subjects concerned with human culture, especially literature, history, art, music, and philosophy, and will include selections from the Western canon.
