ASL 2140 — AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I
Students will learn basic sign vocabulary used by the deaf community, the history of deafness in America, as well as the linguistic structure and visual and conceptual nature of American Sign Language. Course includes the development of basic expressive and receptive conversational sign language skills. A minimum grade of C is required if being used to satisfy the Foreign Language Proficiency Requirement.
