GS 107 — Beginning Astronomy
Introductory course in Astronomy for non-science majors featuring the scientific method; study of planetary and lunar motion including phases of the moon and eclipses; the sun, moon, planets, asteroids, comets, and meteors. Students will learn about the night sky and constellations; formation and destruction of stars; our galaxy and other galaxies; and cosmology. Lab required with either at home night sky observing or optional on-campus observing. Required use of campus observatory either online or on-site for lab projects.
