Study of Renaissance and Baroque architecture in Europe and the New World from 1400 to 1700. With reference to an array of texts, drawings, and the edifices themselves, this course charts the evolution of a commanding Western architectural tradition. Renaissance and Baroque -- with close attention to the social, humanistic, and religious contexts that produced it. Prerequisite: ARCH 44303 . (Typically offered: Irregular) This course is equivalent to ARHS 47503 .
