Add to Bookmarks Nine credit hours. Was SPED 4902. Internship Il provides special educatlon teacher candidates clinical experience teaching learners with disabilities in either К-6 ог 7-12 settings. As part of the year-long residency, internship lI is structured so that candidates work alongside their mentor teacher, implementing selected teaching activities while preparing to assume the role of special educator. Candidates will plan, teach, assess, and reflect on all aspects of the teaching process including communication and collaboration with co-teachers, colleagues, and, familes. Candidates will learn about and use assistive tachnolagy to meet the needs of individual learners. Candidates will meet the expectations of internship by demonstrating competency in individuallzed education plans, planning and providing specialized instruction, co-teaching, utilizing inclusive practices, and implementing universal design for instruction (UDL) principles.
