Add to Bookmarks Three hours lecture. Three credit hours. Students will become familiar with the world’s societies. Basics of world geography, politics, and current affairs throughout the semester. Social, cultural, and historical backgrounds of the Global North and the Global South, paying special attention to the sociology of social change, development, and inequality (social stratification, sex and gender, race and ethnic relations, etc.). Globalization and its implications, as well as the sociology of human rights, are other important topics.
