Introduction to Social Work focuses on major concepts and principles of professional social work, including: the development of social welfare; the history of social work; the knowledge, skills, and value base of social work; models of social work methods; and current social work practice applications. The course also looks at the basis of knowledge from which the theories of social work spring and lays a foundation for social workers’ professional entry into both public and private arenas.
