Provides candidates with the knowledge of current concepts and issues associated with literacy assessment, ranging from kindergarten to grade twelve students with special needs. Focusing on appropriate selection, administration, and interpretation of curriculum-based assessments, authentic assessments, and standardized reading assessments, candidates will also explore connections between referral and IEP processes, and RTI with attention to research-based intervention reading strategies embedded in field activities.
