Introduces the student to bioinformatics: the application of information science to studies in the life sciences. Using a project-based approach, students will be exposed to programming, database, and analysis concepts and tools applicable to the life, medical, and health sciences along with an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the evolving field of biomedical informatics.
