MAT 180 — Introduction to Data Science (Effective 1/18/27)
This course i I ntroduc tion es to the principles of data science with an emphasis on mathematical reasoning, statistical analysis, and the responsible use of data in society. Students will c C ollect, visualize, and interpret data; apply descriptive and inferential statistical methods; and develop models for prediction. Topics include variability, randomness, sampling, correlation, and regression. Students will use t T echnology will be utilized to analyze real-world datasets and communicate results. No prior programming experience is required.
