HRT 125 — Plants and Society â
Essential topics in a modern introductory biology sequence, including Evolution, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Organismal Biology, and Ecology. Content includes: evolution as a unifying theme in biology; an introduction to biochemistry, cell structure, function, and processes; transmission and molecular genetics; introduction to the diversity of major groups of microorganisms, fungi, animals, and plants. As a Life Science, emphasis is placed upon the development of scientific process skills and the value of science to society, specifically by focusing on the value of plants to society and the planet as a whole.
