CHM 100 — Chemistry and Society ◊

Introduction to chemistry, emphasizing its relationship to society and everyday life. Topics include basic chemistry principles; acids and bases; organic and biochemistry; polymers; and consumer, nuclear, and environmental chemistry. Laboratory work is focused on investigating fundamental concepts in chemistry through both traditional and inquiry-based experiments. Designed for non-science majors and meets a general education science requirement. (course fee required)
