Students achieve a basic understanding of how networks operate and how to build simple local area networks (LAN), perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement internet protocol (IP). Topics include safety, networking, network terminology and protocols, network standards, LANs, WANs, the OSI model, cabling tools, Cisco routers, router programming, star topology, IP addressing, and network standards. This s prepare students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) credential.
