Explores the legal issues affecting the elderly population, including Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, retirement housing and long-term care options, age discrimination, elder abuse and neglect, and estate and planning issues related to incapacity-guardianship, advanced medical directives, power of attorney, and end-of-life decisions. Lecture 3 hours.
