EMS256-12 — Lead ECG Interpretation

Prepares students to interpret 12 lead electrocardiograms and recognize acute myocardial injury as well as infarct imitators. Includes lead placement, collection of the 12 lead ECG, review of cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, recognition and management of bundle branch blocks, axis deviations and chamber enlargement and the implications of these findings. Covers recognition of STEMI and NSTEMI to include management in prehospital and hospital environments. Practice in EKG interpretation provided. Lecture 2 hours.
