Prerequisite(s): MUSC 142 or instructor consent. Corequisite(s): MUSC 231. The course is a continuation of Music Theory I and II. The content includes a study of musical form through analysis of cadences, phrases, and periods, as well as written study of four-part harmonic motions in root position and inversion, including all diatonic seventh chords, secondary triads, part writing from a figured bass, shift of mode, tonicization and modulation.
