LINE 106 — Safety for Line Technicians

This course is designed to give students a strong understanding of safe work practices and how to recognize and prevent workplace hazards. Students will learn key Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations specific to the utility industry, as well as safety procedures from the American Public Power Association Safety Manual. The course also covers potential risks in electrical distribution systems, along with important topics in environmental and occupational health. In addition, students will be prepared to earn required certifications in the utility field, including OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, and Flagger. Lecture 2 hours/Laboratory 2 hours/Total 3 hours per week.
