CHM 1610 - General Chemistry I CHM 1610 - General Chemistry I 4 Credits This course covers significant figures, fundamental atomic and molecular structures, nomenclature, principles of bonding, Lewis structures, hybridization, valence bond and molecular orbital theories, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, solutions and concentrations, thermochemistry, electron configuration and atomic orbitals, elemental properties and periodicity, and the behavior of gases. Societal applications and implications of chemistry are explored. This course relies upon and strengthens algebraic problem solving methods. (Fall)
