UPHX 1000 — IDIYD Beginning Upholstery
Are you interested in designing and creating furniture that matches your unique style. This course introduces students to basic upholstery techniques. You will practice sewing basic seams, add piping cords, and piping material to pieces of fabric. You will be introduced to stripping, inspecting, and repairing basic frames. You will learn how to operate commercial and personal sewing machines to thread and stitch seams including flat fell and French designs. You will discover the structure of breaking down and recovering furniture, marking, measuring, cutting, and re-padding. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times if content varies.
