PLST228 — Employment and Labor Law

An introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the employers, employees, and labor unions. Topics include the laws governing health and safety in the workplace, labor unions and union-management relations, employment discrimination, wrongful employment termination, pension plans, retirement and disability income (Social Security), employee privacy rights, the minimum wage, and overtime wages. Washington State workers' compensation statutes will be examined.
