An introductory survey of Western art's foundation and early development. Art and architecture are covered from Prehistoric times through the ancient Middle East, Egyptian, Aegean, Greek, Etruscan, Roman, Early Christian, and Byzantine periods. Emphasis is given to historical and cultural contexts.
