ART148 — Beginning Video Production

This is an introductory course that provides a foundation in digital video as a visual medium. Students explore the history of cinema and develop story concepts into visual narratives through pre-production, production, and post-production practices. This course introduces fundamental video concepts, aesthetics, and creative methods, with an emphasis on the cinematic foundations of digital video production. Students learn to use the digital video camera to create moving images and develop narrative forms through scriptwriting, storyboarding, location audio, lighting, and camera composition. The course also covers non-linear digital video editing and sound design techniques to produce cohesive and expressive video narratives.
