PHL 111 — Environmental Ethics

This introductory course examines human beings' ethical relationship with the natural environment. Topics include environmental ethical frameworks (e.g., biocentrism), animal rights, obligations to future generations, population and consumption, climate change and environmental justice. Some issues are viewed through various cultural and religious lenses. The course incorporates primarily contemporary readings. Prerequisites: Reading Proficiency
