NUR 170 — LPN/Paramedic to RN Bridge Course

is required to prepare the licensed practical nurse (LPN) or paramedic to enter the associate degree in nursing program. Emphasis is on assessing, reinforcing, and expanding competencies. Classroom content focuses on role change, communication, critical thinking, the nursing process, pharmacology, and nutrition. This course is designed to expedite LPNs and Paramedics to their next step in obtaining Registered Nurse Licensure. Upon completion of the bridge course, the students join the 2-year ADN program. (Credit is only allowed for either NUR 170 or NUR 160.) Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Nursing Program and Reading Proficiency
