surveys Deaf history, the physiology of the ear, causes and types of hearing loss, social and psychological aspects of deafness, adaptive technology, access to non-Deaf society, historical and current approaches to Deaf education, common features of Deaf culture, and careers related to deafness. Prerequisites: Reading Proficiency
