This course focuses on patient-provider interactions and health literacy through communication theory and techniques for developing communication competency. Students are given the opportunity to examine and discuss content pertaining to health interactions with healthcare professionals, patients, other providers, corporate entities such as insurance companies, and those of various cultural backgrounds. Skills are developed through a variety of assignments such as discussion, role play, presentations, and other practical applications. Prerequisites: Reading Proficiency
